Assessing Students’ Ability to Apply the Control of Variables Strategy When Engaged with Inquiry-Based Worksheets during the COVID Era

In this study, an inquiry-based sequence was designed, developed and implemented using facets of flipped classroom aspects inquiry learning the ADDIE model. The intends to promote students’ scientific literacy. aim paper is examine effectiveness specially designed online worksheets (e-WS) actively engage students in design unconfounded experiments by applying Control Variables Strategy (CVS). Second-year senior high school (11th grade) participated intervention which approach with asynchronous synchronous distance sessions were adopted, during COVID-19 lockdown. Results show that acceptable adoptable students; existence probe questions e-WS, combined explicit reference procedure enhanced awareness practice on CVS, while at end intervention, capable CVS experiments.
